Memories of Chaudhary Charan Singh Ji and the will of his followers are still strong in the hearts and minds of Indians. The challenges of ending poverty, ignorance, disease, and inequality remain in this country as we reflect on its hard-fought independence.

Among many of India’s founding fathers who participated in the freedom struggle, Chaudhary Charan Singh Ji passionately dedicated himself to the service of the nation. Chaudhary Sahib served India as our 5th Prime Minister and also in various key roles, including Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Home Minister, as well as twice serving as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He instituted numerous programs, policies, and reforms in the interest of the peasants and the rural economy.

Chaudhary Kartar Singh served as the Personal Security Officer and Special Assistant to Chaudhary Charan Singh Ji for more than three decades. All the followers of Chaudhary Sahib deeply respect Shri Kartar Singh, who, in spite of being a police officer, devoted his entire life to serving Chaudhary Sahib and his family.
